Our Land
Our terroirs are located in Kakheti, within the Gurjaani municipality, on the north-eastern slopes of the Tsiv-Gombori mountain range. The vineyards are situated at elevations of 400–650 metres above sea level. This distinctive terrain creates transitional slopes towards the Alazani Valley, providing ideal conditions for the full ripening of the grapes.
The climate is moderately humid, while cold air masses descending from the glaciers of the Caucasus Mountains play a significant role in shaping the local environment, giving the wines their necessary acidity and structure. A high level of sunlight throughout the season ensures an optimal concentration of sugars and phenolic compounds within the grapes.
Raw Materials
Vine Era is focused on unlocking the full potential of its own raw materials, embracing the philosophy of true viticulture. We selectively harvest and sort the grapes in order to achieve the highest quality results during vinification.
The company’s vision is reflected in its assortment, which combines both Georgian and renowned European grape varieties, including Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and, most importantly, Saperavi grown in the Mukuzani zone. Through this combination of varieties, we aim to preserve our Georgian roots while embracing contemporary winemaking practices.
Technology
Our technological system incorporates high-level equipment, including fermenters and stainless steel tanks produced by the Croatian company Letina. The latest tanks are equipped with punch-down and pump-over systems, as well as heat exchangers that enable cold maceration. This technology allows for the efficient extraction of colour, aromatic, and flavour compounds from the grapes, resulting in wines with greater richness and refinement.
An essential part of this technological cycle is the Italian-made Zambelli processing line. For the final ageing process, we use French oak barrels with different toast levels for both red and white wines. The combination of each of these components enables us to carry out a vinification process of the highest standard. This approach reflects both our vision and our ambition to preserve the traditions of Georgian winemaking while shaping its future through innovation and progress.
